party of two

Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home #15: Golden North Motel, Fairbanks, Alaska

land of the midnight sun
this picture was taken at 11:45, nearly an hour after sunset. note the blue sky

Home Sweet Home #13: Talkeetna, Alaska

the house of six and a half trees
House of Seven Trees (actually only has six trees and one stump)

Home sweet Home #12: Waterfront Campground, Seward, Alaska

don't let the sunlight fool you... it was overcast until the morning we left, but still beautiful
right in the heart of town and right on the water. seems like it would be crazy in the middle of summer, but it was perfect for our two nights.

Home Sweet Home #11: Driftwood Inn, Homer, Alaska

awesome inn! our favorite roofed accomodations thus far
cozy place! walking distance to most everything and much warmer than camping on the spit.

Home Sweet Home #10: Porcupine Campground, Hope, Alaska

check out that view!
nice views, nice little hike. not too shabby :)

Home Sweet Home #9: Caribou Inn, Anchorage

will upload picture later...

Home Sweet Home #8: Cozy Corner Motel, Haines Junction, Yukon

the cozy Cozy Corner Motel
Again, no open provincial campgrounds :( The motel was indeed cozy, though and the view of the Kluane Mountains was gorgeous.

Home Sweet Home #7: Liard Hot Springs, British Columbia

unofficially open
Unofficially opened = free! We even had enough time to setup our table and checkered tablecloth for a pasta dinner and chorizo and eggs for breakfast. Mmm...

Home Sweet Home #6: Blue Belle Motel, Fort Saint John, BC

Our other options were (1) a gravel RV park with a barbed-wire fence, (2) an RV park that looked like it doubled as a junkyard, or (3) an overpriced Super8. The guy working the desk was really encouraging, though, offering a few tips for our next day's drive.
