On the embassies and such...

I just sent this email to my mom and grandma joy because they seemed a bit concerned so I thought I'd post it here as well:
Yes, the the Norwegian and Danish embassies in Syria and Lebanon have been burnt, and that is very scary. But, I wanted to let you know that I haven't seen any protests here in Egypt. Most of these protests in other countries, from what I can tell, start with the people feeling they must protest to defend their faith. They feel that their beliefs have been stepped upon and mocked by the west. Yet, when these protests take place they quickly escalate into the whole "mob mentality"... Many of those involved in the protests in Beruit have been quoted as very upset about the escalation to violence, as they thought they were taking part in a peaceful protest in the defense of their faith. So far, the embassies have been empty of people when burnt, but some of those involved in the protests have been hurt. Although it is talked about all the time here, I do not feel that there is any violence to worry about in Cairo. I feel very safe and am doing well! =)
