We visited this park today, surrounded by Old Cairo. It was so refreshing to be in a green space of order...so calming. I usually like a little wildness, prefer forests to gardens and the like, but Cairo is wildness all the time!! I drank more amazing Mango juice at a cafe (i'm so obsessed! why can't we in the US find a way to have amazing fruit juices like they do here!!?) and looked at the view, then found a place to sit and read. We were lectured though, for leaning back on our elbows. Sitting up only. Boys and girls lying near each other would be quite scandalous now, wouldn't it?
